In May 2026, the VENDOR.Energy laboratory rebuild moved from planning into physical execution.

The first equipment began to arrive: measurement instruments, engineering tools, workstation hardware, cables, accessories and the supporting infrastructure required to bring the laboratory back into active operation.

After the relocation, the task was never simply to find another room and place the previous equipment inside it.

The objective was to rebuild the laboratory as an engineering system — a working environment capable of supporting the next VENDOR.Max development cycle.

From relocation to a working engineering environment

For a deep-tech project, a laboratory is not simply the space around a prototype.

It is part of the engineering process itself.

Design, assembly, diagnostics, measurement, configuration control and repeat testing all depend on the quality of the environment in which the hardware is developed.

That is why the first stage of the rebuild focused not only on replacing physical equipment, but on restoring the infrastructure required to work systematically.

Computer systems had to return to the benches.

Measurement equipment had to be installed.

Engineering tools, probes, cables and accessories had to be organized around the workflows that would support the next hardware configuration.

The transition

The laboratory was no longer something we were planning to rebuild. We had started rebuilding it.

Measurement infrastructure comes first

The next VENDOR.Max revision requires more than the ability to assemble and power a system.

It requires the ability to observe it.

That means recovering and expanding the measurement environment alongside the hardware itself.

The first equipment arriving in the laboratory included instruments and tools needed for electrical measurement, component characterization, diagnostics and electronics work.

Multimeters, LCR measurement capability, probes and supporting electronics tools are not peripheral to the development process.

They determine how effectively the team can characterize components, inspect intermediate states, diagnose deviations and document the behavior of individual subsystems.

As the engineering architecture becomes more structured, the measurement architecture must become more structured with it.

Engineering principle

A system can only become more controllable and reproducible if the engineering environment can observe it with corresponding discipline.

Not a restoration of the old laboratory

The laboratory being rebuilt in 2026 is not intended to be a copy of the previous one.

That distinction matters because the hardware program itself has moved forward.

Following relocation, VENDOR.Energy decided not to simply restore the previous VENDOR.Max installation. The team moved directly toward the next revision on a new component base.

The laboratory therefore has to support that next revision rather than preserve the constraints of the previous setup.

This changes what is required from the workspace.

The next engineering cycle needs clearer functional separation, more accessible measurement points, better diagnostics, stronger configuration discipline and a working environment designed for repeated assembly and verification.

In that sense, rebuilding the laboratory and rebuilding VENDOR.Max are not two independent projects.

They are two layers of the same engineering transition.

From delivered equipment to hands-on engineering

Receiving equipment is only the first visible step.

The more important transition happens when boxes become workstations, instruments become measurement channels and the laboratory returns to active hardware development.

Even relatively small elements of the laboratory environment matter.

ESD protection, test leads, connectors, organized tools and controlled workstations are part of the discipline required when experimental electronics move toward a more reproducible hardware configuration.

They do not make the final system by themselves.

But they create the environment in which that system can be built, inspected, modified and tested systematically.

May 2026: the physical rebuild begins

The photographs from this stage do not show a finished laboratory.

They show something more useful for the project record: the moment when recovery became physical.

First instruments.

First workstations.

First engineering tools.

First restored sections of the laboratory workflow.

This phase may look incremental, but it marks an important change in project state.

VENDOR.Energy was no longer organizing the conditions for engineering work.

Engineering work was returning to the laboratory.

Next step

The objective is not simply to fill the laboratory with equipment. It is to restore its core function: making the next VENDOR.Max revision measurable, reproducible and engineering-controlled.
